This program is delivered to parents and caregivers of children and is intended to impact parents, caregivers, and children.
ScreamFree® Parenting, a community-based program, is designed to help parents and caregivers learn how to respond rather than react to children's behaviors and, consequently, create peaceful, healthy relationships.

Program sessions, delivered by organizations, mental health professionals, and Certified ScreamFree Leaders, focus on increasing emotional competency and decreasing emotional reactivity. Parents and caregivers are taught the following concepts:
In addition, parents and caregivers receive ongoing support in the form of newsletters, tips of the day, website community access, articles, and access to questions and answers.
This program has been implemented since 2000 and was first implemented on a U.S. military installation in 2007. More than 1,800 family professionals in 16 different countries have been certified by ScreamFree.

Considerations for implementing this program include finding suitable facilitators and ensuring they obtain training if desired, acquiring participant buy-in, determining mutually convenient times for sessions, providing child care for families with small children, and locating space to deliver the program.
