This program was for high school students.
The High School Financial Planning Program (HSFPP), a school-based program, consisted of a curriculum that was designed to introduce students to basic personal finance skills, educate students about financial planning, and help students build their confidence with respect to financial literacy.
No peer-reviewed publications evaluating the effectiveness of the most recent version of this program were located.
The HSFPP focused on encouraging high school students to develop life-long financial skills, behaviors, and confidence. This program included the following six modules:

Classroom lessons were supplemented with additional online resources and learning activities to reinforce topics. Teachers, students, and sponsors could register online for this program.
Since the program began in the 1980s, it reached approximately 11.5 million people in all 50 States and over 100 U.S. military installations around the world. The program was retired at the end of the 2020-2021 academic year.
Optional training for teachers was available through a free, 45-minute webinar. In-person workshops were available and were held at various locations.
This program is no longer available; however, considerations for implementing a similar program might include acquiring buy-in from school administration and teachers and finding time to implement the program in an already existing curriculum.

This program was free to implement for educators or community youth leaders.
To move HSFPP to the Promising category on the Clearinghouse Continuum of Evidence, at least one evaluation of the most recent version of the program should be performed demonstrating positive effects lasting at least one year from the beginning of the program or at least six months from program completion.
